Dr. Yaniuska Lescaille

Dr. Lescaille is a board-trained gastroenterologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), including Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease. She provides comprehensive, evidence-based care for patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions, with a focus on long-term disease management, symptom control, and quality of life.
Dr. Lescaille earned her medical degree from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center. She subsequently completed fellowship training in Gastroenterology, where she developed a strong clinical and academic interest in inflammatory bowel diseases.
To further advance her expertise, Dr. Lescaille completed specialized postdoctoral fellowship training at the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at Columbia University. As the inaugural postdoctoral fellow in IBD, she received advanced training in the medical and endoscopic management of Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease, including care for patients with refractory and complex disease.
In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Lescaille holds a Master of Science degree in Environmental Health Sciences with a concentration in Environmental and Molecular Epidemiology from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. This background informs her data-driven, personalized approach to gastrointestinal care.
Prior to joining our practice, Dr. Lescaille served as Director of the Division of Gastroenterology at Kings County Hospital, where she led clinical operations and provided care for a diverse patient population.
Dr. Lescaille is committed to delivering patient-centered gastroenterology care, working closely with each patient to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to their diagnosis, lifestyle, and long-term health goals. Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. Lescaille enjoys spending time with her family and remains closely connected to her Cuban heritage through her passion for dance.
