Dr. Judah Horowitz

Dr. Judah Horowitz is a board-certified physician specializing in gastroenterology. He was born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island. He attended Lander College of Arts and Sciences where he was also the president of the student government. He studied mathematics and chemistry and graduated summa cum laude. After college he returned to Brooklyn to study at SUNY Downstate Medical School. He furthered his education by staying at SUNY Downstate where he completed both his internal medicine residency and his gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship.

Dr. Horowitz is passionate about patient care as well as furthering the field of gastroenterology through various research endeavors. He has spent considerable time studying multi-institutional systems designed to improve access to care and outcomes in GI related cancer. He has presented his research at multiple national meetings. Additionally, he spent many years studying different endoscopic techniques designed to improve polyp detection and colon cancer prevention.

Dr. Horowitz belongs to multiple professional organizations, including the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is also the recipient of industry awards such as Castle Connelly Top Docs award.

When he is not taking care of his patients, Dr. Horowitz enjoys playing golf, watching baseball, and spending time with his wife and 2 kids.
